15k Platemail Armor vs. 15k Gladiator's Armor
So I have a W/Mo with the 1.5k Gladiator armor from Droknar. I am debating whether to get the 15k Platemail or 15k Gladiatior. I LOVE the way the Platemail looks, with my Bullwark and Fellblade too, but I am somewhat concerned with the loss of the +7 energy. I hate the way the 15k Gladiator armor looks virtually no different than the 1.5k stuff, except for the arm piece.
Anyways just wondering if anyone has any comments on which is better, like how big of a deal the +7 energy is or any other creative comments. Thanks. |

To be honest, I've almost never had any energy problems in my 15K platemail...but +7 energy does look more appealing.
So if you like Platemail more I think I'd go with it. |

Platemails all about the look. But in fact, gladiators actually gives the better stats.
It's all based on personal preference. |

Yeah you get 5 more AL, energy .. hmmm. No matter what once you get armor crafted it is customized to you correct? Also how much did a Merchant give back for it?

I'll do you one better, Try this. Gladiators Chest With SUP Absorb. Platemail Leggings with Sup Vigor, Knights boots, and If you're a hammer warrior, stoneskin gauntlets, otherwise... thats up ta you.
This build is a bit more effect for tanking, you get a few pluses to dif. kinds of damage/etc... Try it out. |

Platemail is better vs. elemental (and for not looking weird), gladiator is better for energy and physical damage

well it depends on whether you're male or female and whether you think looks is more important than stats. Platemail looks better than glads on males and glads looks better than platemail on females. Personally, I can tank just as well or better than most people in platemail, since the 7 energy really helps.

I don't see why anyone would spend 15k a piece for armor made out of big ugly slabs of mettalic meatloaf when they could buy cool-looking roman gladiator armor with extra energy. See? Opinions on looks go both ways on this. I have a set of 15k glads (great for farming melee mobs) and an older set of dragon's (awesome armor equivalent to platemail) that I throw on when I should really have more protection and/or don't need more energy. Ultimately, 15k armor is all about paying a bunch for cool looking armor, so if you really prefer the platemail's looks you might as well get it. Hell, if you find sometimes you really need extra energy, you can throw on some crappy 1.5 glads for a while. Power nipple ftw!

Lmfao...
I was stating what I said in the likes of looks having NOTHING to do with it... But if you wanna' get into looks, we can all make female mesmers and dance naked in town... It's a game. |

People make too big of a deal out of the look of things.
Fact: Collector Weapons and Droknar Crafter Weapons ARE better than Unique items and Dragon Swords, because you have the option to change the mods. You don't with uniques or Dragon Swords. The tiniest bit helps, so what if you don't look as cool? Fancy yourself up, take some screenshots, and then get the equipment with the best performance, not looks. |

I agree with the issue of weapons .... I want the best no matter how it looks, but if I can get a cool looking max weapon, well .... so much the better.
15K armor is max, like the 1.5K Drok's armor, but does (in my opinion) look better. After you've put 1800 hours into the game and have plenty of coinage, why not splurge and buy something that looks nice. |

If you want to know about the performance of armor... Gladiator's is the best armor in existance. There is no question, no opinions.
The only exception to this is you should be replacing either your hands or boots with Knight armor for the Global damage reduction. Besides that one piece, Gladiators should have the rest of your body. |

One thing i'm wondering is if one should even bother working in one piece of damage reduc armor if they don't want to, because with how a-net has been fixing problematic and ambiguous things like bloodstained boots and stonefists, they may actually fix (GASP!) knight's and make it local.

Don't salvage or Sell keep the armor and switch when needed. Like diffrent runes on various armors, and just switch.
